Welcome to my songsite
Songwriting and playing at and/or running sessions, gigs, festivals, clubs and special projects – if you have nothing better to do, you can find out more about my muisical life by following the website links below or checking out the photo gallery of some of the happy memories.
For many years my musical home was the Bluebell Inn in Hempstead, in the rural north of Essex, without doubt one of the finest pubs in the world untill Rod and Marian finally retired in 2015 – from 2009 to 2019 my new haunt was the incomparable Plough and Fleece in our adopted village of Horningsea in Cambridge,
now a community pub owned and run by the punters. Weekly acoustic session every Thursday from around 8.30 – everyone welcome!
For the next 5 years or so I will taking the ‘Rolling On’ project on the road, visiting sessions and clubs throughout the UK, sharing the award wining Rolling On song on the way and reporting back on the health of community based folk-roots music. Check out the Rolling On page for more details.
Meanwhile, the focus of this website is on songwriting in its many forms as part of the folk-roots tradition.
The mp3’s and lyric pdf’s are provided here for the many people that ask for them and they are covered by a Creative Commons licence for use by anyone in any non-commercial setting.
